Coming soon: Mopa Airport to be a welcoming addition to Goa tourism

Goa is ready to host its second international airport, Mopa Airport, and it should start operations from September 1, 2022. airport, Dabolim Airport, the only airport in the state.

The current airport, Dabolim Airport, is located at INS Hansa Military Air Base and is used by the Indian Navy. Mopa Airport, as a civil airport, aims to develop tourism in the state, as it will serve civilian traffic in full.

It is interesting to note that Dabolim Airport is located in South Goa, while Mopa Airport is located in North Goa, about 35 km from the capital Panaji. North Goa is where you will see some of the best architecture. For example, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Fort Chapora, Fort Aguada and many others. Places like Chorao Island, Grande Islands, beaches like Kerim, Coco, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Candolim are some of the most popular tourist spots in Goa.
