Delays and cancellations in Logan amid air travel problems across the country

Dozens of flights at Boston’s Logan International Airport were canceled on Saturday, and more were delayed as airlines and passengers struggled with staff shortages and bad weather that impacted air travel across the country.

By 12:30 p.m., 53 flights had been canceled and 95 delayed, according to Flightaware.com. The travel website reported 125 cancellations on Logan Friday and more than 550 delayed flights.

The service interruptions followed the delay of hundreds of flights at Logan Thursday night after the Federal Aviation Administration ordered a ground stop at the airport due to stormy weather on the east coast.

Flights in Logan were delayed by an average of about two hours during Thursday’s ground stop, according to the federal agency.
