Kelsey Grammer says Frasier reboot ‘is in its final stages’ | Entertainment

Kelsey Grammer is in the “final stages” of developing a Frasier reboot.

The 67-year-old actor played Frasier Crane on the hit sitcom between 1993 and 2004, and is currently working on the highly anticipated reboot.

In a preview of her upcoming appearance on The Conversation, Kelsey explains, “There was talk about maybe [shooting in] October, maybe a little later. I dont know. There are a couple more things. We’ve got a couple more projects in the works that look like they’re going to shoot first.

“But we are in the final stages of the final script for the first episode of Frasier, the reboot. And it looks pretty good. I watched a couple of times and I cried, so you know I’m happy.”

Kelsey also joked about his importance to the project.

The actor, who played the role of Frasier on Cheers before he joined the series’ hit spin-off, joked, “The key ingredient in the Frasier reboot is actually Frasier, to be honest. It has always been called [Frasier]so it’s me, the key is me.”

Kelsey had previously revealed that he was keen to reunite the old line-up and called the reboot a “third act”.

Kelsey, who starred opposite David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves in the show’s original run, said in an interview last year, “We think we’ll be bringing back most of the cast, I really hope we are, and I’m pretty sure they’ll be back.”

“We have a lot to say – you can tell it with or without them, honestly – but I want them back because that’s what I always dreamed of. I thought we should explore their whole life in their third act and that’s my hope.”
