On June 14, 2022, Croatian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Brnjak announced a large payment of 1.25 billion kunas for Croatia’s most important economic industry.

According to Poslovni Dnevnik, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has opened an electronic consultation on a public announcement/invitation for grants entitled “Improving the competitiveness of enterprises and encouraging the green and digital transition of the tourism sector” in the amount of 1.25 billion kunas. this became known on Saturday.

Minister Nikolina Brnjak said the goal of the call was to funnel as much money as possible to tourism companies, meaning that a significant 60 percent of the total allocated to tourism under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NPOO), or 1 .25 billion kunas. , is intended directly for investments in private investment.

“Of these, 1.02 billion kunas are for high value-added investment projects such as accommodation facilities and related facilities such as theme parks and amusement parks, as well as other innovative tourism content that will truly turn the Republic of Croatia into a year-round tourist destination. an object. appointment,” Minister Nikolina Brnjak explained.

She also noted that all interested persons (enterprises, companies) will be able to apply for a public appeal / invitation on equal terms, but also that the selection criterion for projects will be their quality and readiness for implementation, since the deadline for using funds is the end 2025.

Considering the past two years have been dominated by a pandemic that has had an unprecedented and highly negative impact on the economy and as such travel and tourism, which account for as much as 20 percent of the country’s GDP, announcements like this one would be extremely welcome. spring is in the step of all those companies operating in this sector.
