Multi-level Mario Kart style kart track at new entertainment center in Michigan

IPSILANTI, Michigan. You won’t be armed with tortoise shells or banana peels, but you’ll feel your kart going up to 200cc. A huge entertainment complex has just opened in Ypsilanti, offering everything from go-karts, bumper cars and laser tag to an adventure course and possibly Michigan’s first selfie-putt-putt course.

The Best In Games (BIG) Entertainment Center is located at 4095 Carpenter Road, and when we say it’s huge inside, that’s what we mean.

You can get lost in the arcade on the first floor. Bar and grill nearby. On the other hand – a course of extreme adventures. Turn your head and you will stumble upon a real monster truck Grave Digger turned into a virtual reality attraction.

Look up and you will see a large laser tag area. Around the wall on the second floor, there is a bar, a place to break plates, a place to throw ninja stars, and a selfie field. In addition to high-speed multi-level karting on the third level, you will also find ax throwing and football bowling. Children and adults can spend the whole day here and still not have time for everything.

“We have all these different spaces designed for different people,” Best In Games owner Gaz Ismail told MLive. “For example, a person who throws axes is different from someone who plays selfie putt putt, but all these people together make up one giant mixing bowl.”

The entire third level is dedicated to an indoor Grand Prix-style race track. Electric karts can reach speeds of up to 45 mph on a multi-level track.

“This track was inspired by Fremont Street in Vegas. It is lit with LED lights on a track with different levels and bridges.”

Speaking of inspiration, the selfie-putt-putt course is unlike any mini golf course you’ve probably ever seen. Each of the nine holes is, in fact, a separate scene created by Ismail. There are 26 different photo ops with signs showing where to stand to take each photo.

Some of the holes and photo ops include the Simpsons scene, the Alien scene, a hall of mirrors where you try to see how many reflections of yourself you can get, Twister, scary clowns, and more.

“I just felt that with selfie golf, people would not get bored. Guys will want to play golf with their girlfriends who will enjoy taking pictures. Grandparents will want to take their kids to both golf and photo shoots. It’s all about taking pictures while playing golf.”

Best In Games also has many rooms and private spaces for parties and events. It is open Monday to Thursday from noon to 22:00, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 23:00 and Sundays from noon to 21:00.

“I have been in this business for 30 years,” Ismail added. “I saw what people like, and I myself really like these things. I am like a friend. I am a lucky guy, so I make us adults relive our lives. Children can also come and do all this.”
