Irv Gotti has announced that his label Murder Inc. signed a new contract. Billboard reported that the label had signed new terms with 300 Elektra Entertainment, led by Kevin Liles.
“I’m excited to join forces with Kevin Liles again as we return to our roots where we generated over a billion dollars in revenue at Universal Music Group,” explained Irv Gotti. “I look forward to continuing to build our legacy together and nurture a new generation of artists and timeless music.”
Under the new agreement, 3EE will only distribute physical and digital formats of new music recorded by Murder Inc. In addition, Murder Inc. will be able to use 3EE’s marketing and promotion teams in over 50 territories under the control of 3EE’s parent company Warner Records.
Irv Gotti will continue to own the owners of Murder Inc.
As the history of Murder Inc. continues, the focus is on the label’s heyday. Back in March, Gotti and Ja Rule announced that they were working at BET on a series of documentaries celebrating the emergence of Murder Inc.
“Music is in our DNA. We thank our longtime partner Irv Gotti and the many talented artists on the legendary label for trusting our brand to tell their personal and inspiring stories,” said Tiffany Lea Williams, EVP of BET Unscripted Programming, in a statement. “We look forward to bringing viewers an exciting music documentary series that will show how this label has changed the music industry forever.”
