North Vernon Launches Free Summer Entertainment Series

NORTH VERNON — Downtown North Vernon will debut a new free summer entertainment event tonight.

Stellar Summer Nights will take center stage at 6pm at Stellar Plaza, 50 Short St. The event is a signature series for the newly recognized North Vernon Main Street organization, taking place on the fourth Friday of June, July and August.

Friday’s kick-off event, the Young Talent Showcase, will kick off entertainment at 6:15 p.m. featuring Jennings County performers aged 10-21, according to North Vernon Main Street director Anna Walker.

“There will be a plethora of talent on display, including singing, acting, and a punk rock band,” Walker said.

Participants are asked to bring a chair and take food from participating restaurants downtown. Missy’s Ice Cream & Treats and The Wurst carts will be in the square during the event.

More information about the event is available on the North Vernon Main Street Facebook page.
