POST Houston transforms an old post office into a place for food and entertainment

HOUSTON, TX — POST Houston is Houston’s newest food, shopping and entertainment destination. The project is transforming the 550,000-square-foot historic Barbara Jordan Post Office on Franklin Street in downtown Houston into a multi-use space.

The property is home to America’s largest rooftop park with a “sky farm” that grows fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables that will be used in many of POST Houston’s restaurants. The food hall has already housed more than two dozen shops with cuisine from around the world. The complex will also host concerts and art exhibitions on the lawn.

In redeveloping the space, the leaders tried to create a modern look while retaining some of the historic touches to honor the history of the building.
