Southside Sundays supports local talent and provides free entertainment.

BINGAMTON (WBNG) – Enjoy free entertainment this Sunday.

Southside Neighborhood Assembly, in partnership with The City of Binghamton & Mirabito, presents entertainment on the third Sunday from May to September.

Committee member Bob Greaves said he hoped it would encourage community engagement.

“The Southside Commons community was not being used and we were wondering if we could do something about it and we found that the Southside Neighborhood Assembly was already set up for this sort of thing, so we joined them,” Greaves said.

The goal is to provide a variety of entertainment options for residents.

“We had a great turnout on the first day,” said entertainment chairman Phil Guidici. “Everyone liked it.”

Guidici said this summer’s lineup features local artists and will kick off with Wreckless Marci on May 15th.

“I thought with Wreckless Marci the first band would draw a big crowd, and as it turns out, it did,” Guidici said.

Pasty White and Rocket 88 are set to perform on June 19 at 2:00 pm at Southside Commons Park, located at 45 S. Washington St.

The organizers encourage spectators to bring a sun lounger.
