Despite record gas prices, flight delays and the Covid-19 pandemic, Americans are celebrating the country’s Independence Day on a long holiday weekend.
The weather exacerbated the problems, with widespread downpours and storms affecting travel and fireworks displays in parts of the country, while cities in the west canceled fireworks displays due to severe drought.
Bad weather combined with a lack of staff has also caused at least 1,500 flights to be canceled since Friday.
